Handling Depression....
I cannot find any similar gripes on this forum. The suspension is so soft we feel sick driving around the Catskills. A car like this is meant to be driven but the oversteer and general instability is pathetic. Any comments?
I'm going to see where I get with the dealer, but basically I need to change things. I had an Audi 80 Sport back in the UK - I'd like it back! Any suggestions? I'm still shocked that Audi would set up a car like this - even for the 'bouncy' US market.
Solution A: Go to audi and purchase a set of sports springs. These apparently are the same as the sport package setup (yes the PSK option did have upgraded springs). This will moderately improve the ride.
Solution B: Springs (H&R or Eibach or Abt or Oettinger, or etc,..) plus a set of Bilstein shocks (or from the above list). This will make the car much better and still be not too expensive (about $1-1.5K USD).
Solution C: Coilovers. They make them for the A6 but they are a bit more expensive ($2K+ USD). They will make your car shine.
Solution D (This can be applied to anything noted above). Lower stress bar. About $500 This will also help out a lot.
Nothing out of the ordinary above. All things that people generally do to their cars when they want a bit more of a controlled ride. By the way, check out the archives. Lot's of discussions around suspension lately.
