thanks to all the posters for all the great information!
I put in an order for a 2.7t in the end of July. I was recently told that the car just made the dealers allocation about 2 weeks ago. I haven't been given a production or build date yet. Does anyone know what the timeline is?
As you can imagine, I am getting rather anxious and would like to get rid of my 95 5-series as soon as possible.

Ordered June 20th, no production date yet..........
Yea me too am getting a little antsy. I just checked on Aug 16th and there wasn't a production date. Back in June they said probably October. But now thats just 2 months away. And I'm Driving a big Expedition and can't wait to get into something thats going to be more fun to drive. Lets keep our fingures crossed for a speedy delivery!

not sure what you mean by "just made the dealer's allocation?"... do you mean that it just got slotted into the cars they're allocated to get in October?
I ordered an A4 2.8 Avant QTip on June 8, and at that time they told me that it's in their Sept. build allocation, for Oct. delivery. I just spoke w/ my salesperson today and he said the status sheet shows "build month 9" (Sept.), no specific week yet, so it appears on schedule
