I'm actually selling it for a friend in my club....
I'll get the part number for him...and ask him if he knows about the price difference. He ordered it thinking he would swap out when he went into service...but then found out the dealer is por-chipping, so he wants to sell it (he's never put it in).<p><img src=" http://www.quattroclubusa.org/r/florida/newlogo.jpg " border="0">

I know there are different revs with the same part numer: e.g. my original ECU was 0003 and my replacement is 0005. Both have same p/n. I don't know of any way to tell firmware rev without hooking ECU up to a VAG tool. There may be one, I just don't know it. According to my tech they have to order ECUs by revision number and part number.
P/N also important to distinguish 6spd from Tip ECUs.
I might be interested for experimentation purposes, but it'd be hard to pay more than APR/etc sell for...<p>Richard
