Anything else to improve my '99 A6 2.8L than supercharging?
Besides supercharging and exhaust what other options are avail for low end improvements. Is there a good throttle body for the 30V engine? Any other ideas? I don't think it's worth looking into different gearing ratio mods. My NSX is a beast after changing the rear gears. Any REAL ideas available?
Thanks, DennisD
I have a 2.8L Avant,..so I don't have much choice.. I have seen the supercharger installed. It is just BEAUTIFUL....ifyou like mechanical things that is. It is also a bit more exclusive.....imagine...a supercharged Avant.
Other things to do include standard hot rod stuff (port and polish, blueprinting your engine, manifold, breathing, etc,..). Not many performance parts for the 2.8, os this is going to be expensive whatever you do.
Just one thing. The stock automatic transmission is rated for just 230 hp (I don't remember the torque...which is more important). The PES kit pumps out 280HP. There is a safety range in here and PES have told me that they have talked with the company that builds the transmission and they claim that it is not a problem. But it may not handle much more. Therefore, if this is the case, then you should not do much to it anyways after the supercharger. Imagine that,...spend $5K and know that you can't possibly spend any more on engine upgrades! Neat.
Or you can go the all motor route, which will probably cost more since all pieces will be custom....but it will sound great!

It seems odd, but it seems to be true. I can't explain it.
Also don't forget the uplift expected for May-June '01 (in Europe), which will mostly affect the interior and some minor touches on the outside, but the 2.7T is expected to go to 250hp (vs. the current 230hp, even if it is marketed in the US as having 250hp...)
