allroad questions
Nov. delivery. I ordered the 2 person child seat
for mine, so with the 2 kids I'll be able to carry
5 adults. I didn't consider the Avant due to the 2.8 (200 hp) and I do not like the fit and finish on the Volvo's in general. I also liked the idea of the allroad being more of a hybrid....part luxury car, part SUV (for ski season) and part station wagon, which seems to be the trend of people getting away from the behemouths because of
the terrible handing, safety and fuel effiency issues.
If this allroad vehicle can live up to the hype and if the new 4 position suspension does not have problems, this car chipped will be a BMW
540i sport wagon killer for about 15K less with all the options that they nickel and dime you for.
Also, with the Premium Package the ESP and Xenons are a part of the option which is a plus. I also went for the Nav & 17" special Pirelli option, CD changer, along with the rear seat!

Tire sidewall bubbles (Michelin class action lawsuit)
Rotor warping with light usage around town
Thermostat failure - engine overheating
Severe understeer, almost to the point of being unsafe
Sloppy handling that allows the car to wander out of its lane, and follow road ruts no matter how you hold the wheel
HVAC that's highly unresponsive and annoying
Based on all this, I no longer like the 850. The Audi is a far, far better platform.

My impression of the chassis was it somehow was dumping the power out onto the ground somewhere. Not exceptionally fast. Handled a little odd also.
The engine was potent (although laggy and demanded flogging at times to get any power out of it), but the car didn't feel potent with the engine in it.
Not a really bad car though. If the allroad didn't exist, it'd be my favorite performance wagon (I like AWD).
