Audi Sport/Eibach springs for 99 A6 Avant
1) Has anybody done this and do you think it was a worthwhile investment, especially if the stock shocks are retained? How is the ride compared to stock?
2) Are there reputable shops in the SF East Bay, preferably in the Tri-Valley, that would do the work? If so, what kind of estimate can I expect? The dealer estimated about 7 hours at $90/hour. OUCH.
3) Knowing that the car would have to be realigned, would the same shop that could do the installation also do the alignment? Dealer told me $189.
I'm mainly looking to firm up the ride a bit, without getting to drastic and I figured this might be a moderate solution. Thanks in advance for any input.

The install can be done by any reputable Audi/VW performance shop. I can't helpyou there but I can tell you that it should only be about 2-3 hours work including the alignment. The A6 Avant is actually easier than the A4. The entire shock assembly can be taken off unlike the A4 where they have to wedge it back into the tower brace.
As you can tell from my previous posts, I want to do more. While you have the shocks apart, ask youself if you want more stiffness and see if you can splurge on the shocks too. The labour is the same as they have to take everything apart anyways to get a the springs. Won't cost a thing extra to change the shocks (other than the cost of the shocks)
Have fun!
