Need some answers about whiter/brighter bulbs on A6
It seems like the PIAAs are what I am looking for since I don't want the cheesy Honda poser look. But a few questions:
1.) I did a search on the PIAA site and the A6's use the H1's. I have the 2000 A6 with the Hella projectors. But it says at the PIAA and Autosupermart site that the bulbs aren't available for the lowbeams? Is this right, I could have sworn that others talked about using these in the A6 before. Where can I find them?
2.) I quite like the Hella projectors and how they have the "box frame" effect that has the blue edge trails. If I replaced the stock halogen bulb, with the PIAAs or Eurolites would I still have this cool blue trails/framing projector effect? By the way, when did the A4 and A6 switch to the projector headlights?
3.) The only H1 listed at autosupermart.com is this: single bulb pack "11455 H1 55 W=100 W XTRA BULB $22.99 " Are these the ones? But they also have something called the Platinum Superwhites, anyone have any experience w/these?
4.) Lastly, I admit that I am a big auto maintenance dummy! How hard is it to replace the bulbs in a 2000 A6? Can someone post step by step instructions or at worst, a good place that would do the install in the Bay Area/No. CA?
Sorry for all the questions, but thanks in advance!
