Default S4 Wheels?

Will the current S4 wheels fit a 2001 A6 2.7T properly (i.e. without modification)? Searching through the old posts, I found contradictory information. If so, any pictures? TIA

Default I've been running them for over a year now

and they work/look great with 235/45-17 tires. I know a few others that also run them and are very happy.

Are the S4 Wheels 7.5" or 8" wide?

I think 225/45 was the right size tire for a 7.5" rim

Default whichever

235/45-17 matches our original tire size (215/55-16) better. Check with the manfacturer of your tires, I checked mine and Pirelli says that a 235/45-17 on a 7.5" rim is A-OK.

Default Steve--If my car is delivered with.................

225/45/17 on the 17 X 7.5" BBS RCs (which the dealer believes will happen) will the speedometer be callibrated for 225/45/17 or for the stock 2.7T size of 215/55/16?

Thanks!!!

Default no one is sure

I think all A6s are actually calibrated for the 225/45/17 because it matches the 205/55-16 which comes on the A4s and 2.8 A6s.

That is my opinion. The difference between the two about comparable to the change in tire diameter between new and stock. Also, tires don't typically exactly match the specs, and change diameter at different speeds and air pressures anyway.

So I don't know that it matters which they did it for.
