Need information on installing a Motorola StarTac phone
I just purchased an A6 4.2 yesterday. I want to use my StarTac 7868 in the car, but can't seem to find any information at all about how to go about getting a hands-free kit, or how I might get it installed. Does anyone have any experience, or knowledge on this subject?

Contact your wireless service provider(more)
they should have a list of local shops that can sell and install a kit
for you, but honestly, do you really want to install a kit for a phone
you'll prably replace in less than a year? I work in the wireless
industry and I see phones come and go. The Startac has been around for
a while, and AT&T(whom I work for) has discontinued it. I deal with
people almost every day who ask, "Will my new phone work with my car kit."
My usual anwer is no.

Thanks for the info. I am looking into the idea that if I can get someone to install the StarTac hands free kit, the kit will be compatible with the new series of phones as they become available. There is a new series of Vphone out there that seems to replace the StarTac, but this phone is not available in Tri-mode, and hence is not compatible with my needs (national roaming) and my desires (not to change my service).
As far as the installation of the kit is concerned, your idea is good. I will contact my provider, and seek help. It's Verizon however and they have not proven to be that helpful in the past.
