Burning Oil
My 3 month old 01 2.7T with 2600 miles was one quart short when I checked this weekend. Is this normal? (the Dealer says it is). Also, I thought the turbo engine came with synthetic oil from the factory but the dealer told me this is not so, and just to add atandard 10W30.

A quart in 2600 seems to in the norm during break-in..
from postings here. Mine used about 1/2 qt in the first 1500, then less than 1/2 qt in the next 3500. I'd stick with 5w30 dino oil in the turbo engine 'til 8 or 10K, then switch to synthetic. With the turbo bearings reportly running at over 100K rpm, it pays to be paranoid about oil weight and quality.

Seems like 2.7Ts burn a bit more than the 2.8 or 4.2 from what people report here...
sounds like yours is pretty normal compared to others. Most have reported a decrease to nearly no consumption after the first change.

1 qt/1000 miles is normal. Suggest Chevron 0W30 or 5W30 as per UA dealer until you
change to synthetic at 10K (after engine break in). UA= University Audi tech rep suggestion. That is the dino oil they use on all oil changes.
