Cops love Audis (long story ensues)
Four lane road, two each direction. Ahead of me is a Grand Rapids cop car, going about 31 or 32. I decide to pass him. Why not? Certainly nothing wrong with driving the full speed limit, right?
As I glide by at about 35 or 36, I notice there are two cops in the car, both seem to be checking me out. They pick up the pace, matching my speed, in the left lane. Yes, I am getting nervous for some stupid reason.
I pull up to a red light, and can FEEL the cops pulling up slowly beside me on my left side, into the left turn lane. I am in the straight lane. I have the windows down. I can now see the front bumper of the cop, and then they are directly beside me.
"Nice ride, Steve" I hear. I turn and look at the cop in the passenger seat, who is grinning from ear to ear. "Did you just run my plate?" I ask him, wondering how in the world he would know my name. "Yep" he says. "I wanted to see what year your A6 was. It's a beautiful car"
"Thanks" I tell him.
As the turn light goes green and they start to move, he says "By the way, you have fourteen days until your tag expires. Have a nice weekend." They speed off, all of us laughing.
Maybe cops aren't so bad after all....
