Eibach springs on a 99 2.8Q..................

Would like to lower my wheel gap and improve handling...has anyone installed the Eibach springs on a 2.8Q (lots of posts about installing them on a 2.7t)....don't want to replace shocks, just do springs. Any problems with this?

I just had them installed 2 weeks ago on my '99 2.8Q. Definitely reduces the wheel gap by about 1.5 to 1.75 inches. That doesn't sound like much but the car looks much meaner. The handling is definitely better through curves at higher speeds with a lot less body roll. It is not real stiff like I thought it would be. I did not change the shocks, just the springs. I will upgrade to the 17" S6 wheels next month. But even with the stock 16" wheels it looks good.

I've seen posts of those who only did the springs

I would try just the springs first and see if you like that. I've read that the stocks wear faster with stiffer springs but could just be a marketing ploy.
