Default Saw some strange highway racing last night

These two semi-tractors were goin at each other
on the highway. I had just left the missus' house, on the way home. I'm cruising , doing about 62 with the roof and windows wide open. I'm in the right lane, and as I signal to change to the center lane to pass a slow-moving vehicle. I look in my side-view and I see a truck haulin' ***. I mean this guy has to be running at least 85 in a 50. Needless to say, I let him go, and right behind him is another truck (both guys are driving semi-tractors, 10-wheelers, without a trailer) and they are RACING!! Racing like lunatic teenagers. Left-lane, center lane, right lane. Doing wild 3-lane changes, but they are using their signals. I pop my cell phone hands-free mouthpiece in the ear, and I'm trying to figure out who to call to report this. These guys are really going at each other, for about 5 miles. I wanted to call the local precinct, but by the time any police arrive, they'll be long gone. I wished for once that I had my CB with me. They cut through traffic and hit an open stretch. One trucker moves from the right lane to center lane to pass another car, while the trucker behind him was already moving to that space to block him off!! What do they do? Apparently, they both floor it, with the following truck making a last-ditch effort to lunge to the far left lane, narrowly missing a minivan which had every right to his lane position. They take off up a small hill, and I mean these guys are moving. I really didn't think that a semi-tractor unit could accelerate so fast at highway speeds. They accelerated so hard that I had to downshift from 6th to 4th just to keep up. I'm trying to get close enough to read a plate off the back of either of the trucks, but these guys are so dangerous, that I can't get within 150 ft of them. They go barreling down a hill, and I'm wondering to myself where all the troopers are that usually patrol this area. My V1 goes off, Ka band, so I know there's one lurking ahead. These truckers are doing about 75 around a turn, and there is the man, sitting on the shoulder, lights off, window open, handheld unit out the window. The truckers (and the cars in front of them) stand on the brakes, and everybody slows down to 42 mph. After we pass, the trooper comes out, and pulls into the center lane, light bar ablaze, and comes roaring up to my back bumper. I'm really like What the H---!! I was only doing 38-39 when I passed him, there was a virtual parking lot there. The trooper bullies his way past me. (literally didn't even allow me to move out of the way, he was squeezing past me and another car that was on my left when I finally got half out of his way) He barges his way through the traffic, and he settles in behind the tailing truck. I'm pleased, as I figure he's got them both. Wrong!! he passes them on the shoulder, wails up to this middle-aged man in a Dodge Intrepid and pulls him over!! This guy was in between the trucks when they blazed past the trooper. I was steamed by this, and really wanted to stop but was unable to pull over on the shoulder as I was boxed in by traffic, and it was highly unsafe to stop in that area.
"Selective Enforcement" at it's best in NYC.

Default Some scary stuff, Jim. Too bad you couldn't get a company name off the door, you might have (more)

been able to clue in the state police. But then I have to wonder, would this been enough of a priority for anything to be done? Could anything be done?
