Fan Siren Noise Update
Took my car in for a check up of the electric fan sounding like a siren. Final diagnostic was a piece of rubber jamming the electric fan on the engine side of the radiator, just as Ming 2.7T posted some time ago. It was apparently an assembly error. This fan had never worked since I bought the car. That is also why the A/C never worked adequately at the low speeds of heavy traffic. With this fan innoperative the outside fan was working at the highest setting all the time thus making the siren sound. It works perfectly now and the A/C system is coping very well with above 90 deg. weather conditions which I had problems with. The fan relay was working OK also.
So if any of you guys have the siren sound on your fan you may be having a similar problem.

Ming, you're not gonna believe this but...
I think my fan needs replacing AGAIN. It was 85° up here in Ontario last week, and when the small aux fan went into high-speed, there was that sound again. Someone 100 feet away, who didn't even know my car was running, said "I think I hear a fire truck".
I'll take a look for stray rubber, but it goes in for regular service in 2 days anyway.

That stinks, I guess I have that to look forward too!! LOL
Now thats it hot enough to use the air here, I will definitely keep watch on the noise. It is very embarrasing to have poeple pull over for the cops or firetrucks, but its very effective to have a clear, road ahead of you!!! Especially during rush hour traffic! LOL
