Default Good Audi Service policy in PR

Talking about Audi service all over the country, our local dealer here in P.R. only accepts appointments for service or repairs only from Monday thru Thursday and will reserve Fridays for emergency cases of second order or quick lube-oil changes. First order emergencies will be attended on the spot as soon as they happen and will try to resolve while you wait. If extended time is required they will keep the car as neccessary and give you a ride to any place within the metropolitan area. I do not know if they have a loaner service but I think they are giving an excellent service, and the attention to details is very good. I guess they have to do it like that since they also represent Porsche, Ferrari and Rolls Royce.

Just for curiosity, how much is the labor rate for service at some of your Audi dealers? It goes for $65.00/Hr. here!

Average price of a 2.7T is $60,000.00 and up!

Default can't you buy one here and take it back to P.R.?

It could cost a few $$$ to ship it and travel, but you've got about $15K to work with.

What a rip.

P.R. is Puerto Rico, right?

Default Tried that, but did not work!

When you import a car here in Puerto Rico they put an import tax that may be as little as +/-10% up to about +/-30% or higher depending on car cost, model year, engine size and type of vehicle. On top of that if you are an individual planning to import a car yourself, you will pay more tax than a dealer would. Very unfair but that's the way it is! This was done supposedly because of some unscrupulous persons bringing in cars on their own, selling them at much lower costs than dealers would and then dissapearing with peoples' monies if they happen to get lemons. It also seems like a lot of US dealers were getting rid of problematic cars, lemons, flooded cars, etc.,etc. and selling them to these individuals which would bring them in here, shine them up, and sold them.

Now you guys can have an idea how hard it would be to have a $60k+ car with some nuisances like the ones mentioned in this forum. I get scared some times just thinking about it. Fortunately mine have being resolved satisfactorily and with minor inconveniences. I have faith that the car will perform like that for many years to come, and definetely this forum with the help of people like some of you guys is of tremendous help to those of us who like to have their cars in top shape and who could do a good portion of the work.
