1500 mile trip
Mileage - avg mileage was 23+mpg at avg speed of 62 mph; highway cruise speed was typically 80+. (A short test run showed it would have been well over 25mpg at lower highway cruise speeds)
Performance - awesome on the open road, hard to keep it under 90. Got up to 125 in some places crossing the desert. (I gotta buy a radar detector). Virtually unaffected by strong cross winds or trucks passing in the opposite direction. Stock suspension and steering are definitely on the soft side for high speed driving.
Comfort - superb, though I suspect the A/C may be hard-pressed if we make the trip in August when the desert temps will be 120+. Seats are great. Noise level is very low.
Incidents - a heart-stopper occured when the low oil light came on at 90mph about 100 miles west of Phoenix (not exactly where one wants to be stranded); happily a quick check of the dip stick showed it was a false alarm. Another interesting incident was my finding four Japanese gentlemen oooh & aaahing over the car one night in the hotel parking lot when we were leaving for dinner.
I'm also pretty sure I have the only A6 that has been up to the Hopi villages on 1st Mesa!
