Default Help with Ming Blue!!

Washed my a6 this morning - it looked beautiful. A couple of hours later I noticed a bird had done its duty on my trunk lid and I proceed to clean it off but I now have this stain from the bird dropping that refuses to come off. How do I remove this?

Default Clay or Imperial Hand Glaze

You need something just slightly abrasive. Bird **** is pretty nasty stuff, as you've discovered. It eats through the clear coat, so always rinse it off right away. And be sure to rewax after getting all remnants off.

Carcareonline.com talks about this fine stuff. You also need to be careful because some birds eat sand to help with their digestion, so when you wipe it off it scratches the paint! Gosh, they're lovely little creatures.

Acids from the turd ate the top coat of your paint. I'd suggest Meguirs Fine Cut Cleaner, followed by their swirl remover and then a coat of Hi Tech Yellow Wax or Zymol. Good luck! When I see a droppings I cringe, especially on my Racing Green...might as well be a black car.

Default I had a similar problem last year-->

when my car was new. As Dave said below is the best procedure. A mild cleaning wax will lessen the stain, but don't expect it to go away with 2-3 applications. In my case, I proceeded to polish the car every washing (once per week) within a period of approx 2 months, the stain was completely invisible.
I now have built a nice protective barrier on the paint. Just last Sunday, while in church a bird hit me squarely on the hood. The car sat in the beaming sun for 2 hours until I got out of service. I cringed when I saw the dried bird stain. But, with a spray of quik detailer and a wipe of my microfiber towel, the dropping was gone, with no mark behind.
It may be a good idea to take care of the entire car now, as you have a good reason to. Just use a cleaning polish (the Meguiars Dave mentioned works well) then follow up with a good Carnauba wax (I use Gliptone). You will get a good upper-body workout, but bugs and bird droppings won't be able to harm your finish

Default Thanks for the Help

Used the swirl remover and the stain is slowly disappearing. Will need a few more applications. Thanks again for the advice.
