Defective clearcoat???

Defective clearcoat???
Due to the multiple pictures of newly Zaino-d A6s. I decided today was the day I was finally going to get off my *** and Zaino my 4.2, now 5 months old.
While I was removing the fine powder of Zaino number 2, I noticed an area just behind the driver's side rear door, a couple inches below the little window that seems to have clear coat missing. It is irregular in shape, rough to the touch, about 3-4 cm in irregular diameter with another area, smaller a couple inches back. These areas seem to be deeper than (or step up to) the normal, smooth rest of the car. Using my finger nail I can remove (very slightly) additional clear coat from the irregular streaks.
Retrospectively, I noticed this area way back in December when first washing it that the water would create linear horizontal streaks there before I dried it. I never did look close enough to notice the defect.
Anyone have any thoughts on clear coat defects or ways to remedy it? I just don't want any damage to happen to the pigmented layer which is now (always has been I guess) exposed.
