I just got my BG 44k fuel system cleaner... have heard that this is the only stuff that really works. (To remove carbon deposits and buildup, clean the valves, injectors, etc.)
$24 for the 11oz can with shipping. Very few distributors (only 3 in the entire state of NY) so I ordered from GPR.
Since some of you are getting up over 30-40k miles, it might be a wise idea to start treating your fuel system so you don't wind up with a carbon problem later on in the engine's life... I suspect that the 30v 2.8 and 2.7T, and 40v 4.2, will also have issues with carbon buildup over 50k, as the 2.8 12v does.

Yes... Use carefully.
THis is VERY powerful stuff, much moreso than Techron, etc.
Use it just before an oil change (a fuel tank or two before) I'm told.
Be careful using it on high mileage cars that have never been treated. My M-B service mgr. friend has seen high mileage cars use it for the first time and be stopped dead in their tracks by carbon deposits that it cuts loose, and which then clog things up.
IMO use it every 15k or 30k, no more frequently, and if you're going to use it (should not really be needed if you use Techron now & then, based on what I know), start before you get up around 50-60k and well beyond.

I've had good luck with a dose of Techron between oil changes (every 4k). Don't see need for BG 44k
as long as Techron Concentrate is doing the trick and at a fraction of the cost.

I'm not sure about the concentration of Techron in the Chevron gas out of the pump but it certainly couldn't hurt. I might still consider a dose of concentrate between oil changes. Especially if you use AoA's recommended intervals. To the best of my knowledge all domestic fuels have detergents in them. I would think that some are better than others. I wish we pumped Chevron w/Techron around here! I'm a firm believer in the product and have been using it in multiple vehicles for about 10 years.

Two bottles of that Techron crap cost me $22!
So Techron is not cheap either...this damn 21.7 gallon tank can really suck in the Techron. I'm sure Techron can be found cheaper (I was stunned at the $11/btl fee...I had always gotten it for ~$6 before...but it was time).
