BBS Tool is useless and question on tire size

I got a flat last night and had to flat bed teh car to the dealer because the BBS "Sunglass Case" tool they supply with the car is useless!!! Anyone have any idea on a replacement tool? Also, I have the optional 17" wheels, non-sport susp, can I get a 225/50 17 on my car instead of the 225/45 17?

There was some great posts on the BBS tool. use the search.

And most poeple are using 235/45-17 on those rims as replacement tires

235/45's are the biggest that fits on that rim

I too have that setup and I replaced the factory 225/45-17 Bridgestone RE040's with 235/45-17 BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDWS Ultra High Performance All Season tires.

I need the All Season capabilities as I live on top of a mountain in North West NJ. I haven't noticed any significant lose in performance.

TireRack sells the BBS tool that you need.

If you can find 225/50/17 they will fit but the diameter..

will be larger than stock. Of course a 235/45/17, which is the largest recommended size for the wheel, is also larger in diameter than stock but not by much.
