Silver '00 2.7, bumpers look darker than body work...
I'm seriously considering a silver '00 2.7T but I was spooked tonight...I would swear the front and rear bumpers are noticeably different color of silver than the body panels. Just a shade darker. New cars on the lot don't seem to look this way. I realize there will be color variation between materials over time, but this noticeable enough to give me second thoughts. Is this common? How likely is it that the car has had bodywork? Also, does anyone have the solar cell/blower option? Does it work well? The car has all options except sport package, and the dealer is asking 34.5, 19,000 miles. Thanks in advance.
Rarely is there a mismatch, but I have seen it a few times - mostly on pearl white or silver.
Nobody does silver better than Germans, but I must confess that the bumper-to-body alignment in the A6 is not what it could be. (Better than my old 1982 Buick Skyhawk T-Type, which was several shades of floppy silver plastic.)
I went with black rather than silver for this reason.
That's my 2 cents...

As for the Solar Roof, I love it. Then again, I don't mind the solid roof as compared to the moonroof. You should also have the side sunshades for the rear passengers, and a power rear sunshade. To be honest, I don't use the side shades much, but the blower, I could not live without in a car with a black interior.
It really depends on whether you will need it where you live. I live in the SF East Bay Area, and this last summer had some pretty hot days, but the interior only exceeded the ambient temp by very little, with the exception of the surfaces of the seats exposed to that sun (ouch!). All in all I think it was a well worth while option for me.
Good luck!
