A6 wheel sizes??
I am primarily interested in 17 inch rims, but the question is about offsets, etc.. What are the requirements to work on an A6 4.2 and what are also corresponding tire reccomendations/requirements...
I am trying to find some custom wheels...and rather confused on sizes and bolt config
Colorado Wheels site--http://www.coloradowheel.com/
and the Ronal site--http://www.ronalusa.com/home.html
Ronal makes many of the OEM Audi wheels. Audi 17" wheels have a 43 et offset and I found when I went to 235/45 tires the clearance was very tight. I put on Ronal R38s in 17" with a 35 et offset and the clearance for the tires is much better. It you go to a 8.5" wide wheel with a 235/45 tire you will have little or no tire bulge
to protect the wheel from curb rash. 8" is ideal for 235/45. Good Luck!!
So it sounds like I would want either 17x8 or 17x8.5. 17x9 is too wide?
I currently have the stock tires that came with the sports package which are 255/40. I'm not exactly sure what that means exactly and how it relates to the tire sizes mentioned above or the wheel sizes mentioned above. Anyone care to comment on that?
My current plan is to buy another set of wheels and put the current tires onto the new rims ant then put some winter/weather tires onto the stock rims since I live in whistler 50% of the year.
Any thoughts on Winter tires while we're at it?
