I own a '01' 4.2 w/sport pkg.
After careful research, this is the optimum, safe winter wheel/tire combo.
For $1,260.00 (complete)
(4) 16"x 7" 215/55 16 Nokian NRWs
Mounted/balanced on AT S5 (looks like S6 Avus style).
Hubcentric, ET35....no vibration problems.
Fits and looks good inside the flared wheel wells.

One thing....if I can find a decent winter tire in a 17" size I would rather get that because I was thinking of upgrading my summer rims and keeping the factory rims for my winter tires...
any thoughts on that issue?

Believe me, I checked this out.
The wheels and tires, do not, I repeat do not look narrow in the wheel well. That was a major concern for me.
I would not have purchased if that were the case.

Do you have the sport pkg. w/5-spoke forged wheels?
If yes, are you considering running those on winter tires?
I chose not too. Went with an aftermarket Avus style wheel.
Again, 17" winter tires, most say do not perform well in snow pack, traction, etc.
I struggled with this, as well.
