I agree with the posts below that the maturity level is VERY model dependent- the 3-series boards could give the A4/S4 board a run for "most immature forum".
I'd like to claim that the 5-series E39 board is identical to this one, but the reality is that it's not even close. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give this forum an 8 for maturity and intellect, whereas the E39 board would rate a 6 or 7 at best. That's not to say I hate it over there, because there are a lot of good people who post great stuff and, on occasion, I like to "be a kid" once in awhile myself.
This is the main reason I spend too much time here- it's just too bad you guys all drive Audi's. :-)
