Default 4.2 Posessed!!!

We had some cool thunder and lightning storms in NorCal tonight (first rain since June, 2nd since March!) and the wife and I thought some 4.2 pics silouhetted against a sky of lightning bolts would look pretty cool. Unfortunately, after 30-40 shots, I still could not get a coincidental lightning bolt. Damn! But I did get this strange one with the bizarro headlight thing going. Well, we gave up and continued to go to her birthday dinner, which was outstanding...then on the way home decided to stop by Diablo Audi and see if they had an Amulet TT around so she could reinforce her satisfaction with the choice of color for the S6.
Luckily there was one right there in front of the showroom...very nice...now again very reassured that Amulet was definitely the right choice

Default Fun shots, it was a spectacular light-show here. My wife had "the big car" as we knew

it would be raining (she was over the hills and far away in Walnut Creek she goes) and I feel better about her driving the A6 than any of our other rides in inclement weather - especially the "first rain".

I must say though that I've never wanted to go driving so badly. Let me out to play in the rain! I'm still waiting to see what this quattro and esp stuff is all about. Guess I'll have to wait for the next NorCal rain, should be within a month or two for sure! :-)

Default Do you have a hi-res of the first photo?

Default Use a Long Shutter Speed and Very Small Aperture Setting

You can open up the camera next time and just wait on the lightening to flash. Once you get a couple of nice bolts, just close the shutter and develop the film, or review the shot if it's digital. Lightening shots are great fun and look amazing.

Cool headlight shot thought!

Default Quattro and ESP....here's what it does on dry pavement............................

One dark night on a small and windy road in Santa Cruz. I was accelerating hard through a turn in the road. It was a sudden 45 degree right turn (and I was playing). Well I felt the whole car MOVE sideways. For a split second I backed off the throttle but knew I needed to stay with it. The rear of the car seemed to want to drift farther out than the front. Then the front of the car seemed to take over and pull the car through the corner. In retrospect I realized that the quattro and ESP saved my butt. I love driving my car and am even happier now knowing I am driving one of the safest and really fun cars to drive. I have since slowed down just a bit. My wife and kids need a dad not a statistac. Have fun and be careful.

Default Oh yeah, I don't know why my photog-esque wife didn't suggest that...

It'll probably be another year or so before we get lightning again. At least this digicam can do all that stuff.

Default You hafta get another "big car" so you can feel safe too...

This thing is sickly awesome in the rain...it almost seems "faster" and more beast-like...completely oblivious to the adverse weather conditions...the only sucky part is that it gets pretty damn dirty (especially when there hasn't been rain for 3 months and the roads are coated with lotsa nasty stuff).
