So what do you guys/gals think about the new Multi Media Interface? SteveB?

If we're luck we might see this with the 2005 models of Audi (the new A6 in 2004-2005 range perhaps?), but now that iBurst is becoming a reality in the states, the netification of car apps/portals seems a doable. Whether these features are ever enabled in a NA version of the cars is a question that the AOA lawyers have to deal with. I think that is one of the main reasons why AOA has shied away from NavPlus in NA- too much litigation potential. After all, we're the society, which sues McDonald's because the coffee we buy and put in our laps is too hot.

This isn't a Mickey D's issue, it's one of distraction

Every year a new way to keep drivers from paying attention appears. That is what is worrisome.

Having the kids in the back seat watching DVDs is fine, having the driver watch them is not. Blaring stereos aren't as much a concern (since they are more passive) as active distractions like nav systems, I-Drive, this new Audi thang, cell phones, in-car TVs, etc.

I yell too many times a day already, Hang up and Drive!
