I want to buy an A6 2.7T so I have a few questions...
-Good deal?
-Where's a good/reputable/competitively priced place to buy BBS/HRE/Oettinger rims? Which size is ideal for the A6 (18s or 19s)?
-Which tuning firm is the preferred provider for chips? Same as the S4? Any locals in Seattle?
-Are the turbos pretty reliable on an '00 2.7T?
My modding plans right off the bat:
-Three-piece rims (Kinesis, BBS, HRE, Oettinger, etc.).
-Exhaust (which brand?)
-Intake (which brand?)
-Springs (which brand?)
-Short shifter (Tanoga, UUC)
-Sway bar
-VAG Tool
-Bailey valves
-Finally, the chip (which firm?)
-New front grill and a body kit
What do you guys think?
Intake: there is no intake worth using for the 2.7T.
Bailey: even the makers of the Bailey say it doesn't give you more performance.
Springs: Eibach, that's what everyone uses.
Sway Bar: only Audi's Sport sway bar is available. Obviously don't bother if the car already has the sport suspension
Body kit: you must be kidding. Get a Honda, buddy.
How many miles on the car and is it Audi Certified used. The Audi certified has a longer warrantee which is always a good idea on a German car since repairs are expensive and systems are complex.
The chips are pretty much the same as the S4 but not interchangable (I think?). APR, MTM, GIAC all seemto be fine and add lots of power. You need 17 or 18" wheels but I would stay away from 19". The 19" wheels will get bent going over even small curbs, pot holes, etc. and the tire selection is much smaller in that size.
There are Eibach springs available from Audi in addition to coilovers from a few sources. You can get a wide range of brake upgrades since the brakes are the same as the S4.
