Default I'm in!

Picked up my 1999 A6 Quattro last Saturday.
Silver with gray leather, Bose sound system, 6 CD changer.

I do have a question though. I just noticed this yesterday. When driving at about 35-40 mph with the windows up and the sunroof open there seems to be a thumping or vibrating happening. You can feel it in your ears. Has anyone had this happen? Is this normal? Thanks

Default Means your car responds normally to the laws of physics

Either crack a window or find a setting of partially open where you have no noise. On my car, there is an indicator on the **** that is the suggested position for driving at highway speed.

Default My 2001 A6 responds normally to the laws of physics; my '96 does not.

I can have the sunroof wide open on the '96 with the windows closed and there is no buffeting at all.

i bet that if you measure the sunroof on each car they are different, or the wind deflector is different.

Default Close the Roof One Notch and It'll Solve the Problem

AofA sent out a notice on this problem. They will probably do a retrofit for the air dam on the leadging edge of the moonrood opening.
