S6 Brakes - Why?!
are the S6 brakes upgraded from the 4.2? I read in one of the US magazines that they don't get the big brembo brakes of the S8. So they put in extra 30 hp in the car and no upgrades on the brake? my 4.2's brake feels okay but still weak. could it handle spirited driving on an S6?
(I remembered one of the owners of Brabus (MBenz tuner mentioned that he thinks those customers of his upgrading the engines without upgrading the brakes are crazy. may be we have some at the quattro GmbH.)

Don't worry about it. The S6 brakes are perfect (more)
When you first apply the foot on the pedal they seem a bit soft, however as you carry on pressing the pedal they really bite.
I have had a few emergency braking, when my "Laser Echo" started beeping while being over the speed limit and so far I always managed to bring the car back to the legal speed limit very fast. In some cases I had to reduce my speed by 60 mph in a few seconds.
On mountain passes, the brakes have proved their excellence and never faded away.
Here, people rave about the M3 brakes, well in my opinion, in view of the 400 Lbs extra weight of the S6, I would say the S6 brakes are as good or even better.
Road tests have reported figures of 2.6/2.7 seconds from 62mph to 0

Just read in an article that the S6 has the HP2 brakes...
Whether or not they upgraded the pads and rotors, though, I don't know.

I remember the first test of an A6 4.2 where the author wrote they were able to fade the brakes...
...just doing the 70-0 stops. Kind of scary IMO, although I guess my AP's would start to fade doing 70-0 stops, after about 25 in a row...
