NTB Nightmare Tire Replacement
I just had my prestine condition Cashmere Grey A6Q 2.8 tires replaced. Our fine friends at NTB must have thought they were replacing tires for Jeff Gordon. They chipped up all four rims around the lugnut holes. They also dinged the passenger front door.
They have offered to remove all of the rims to send out for respraying and clearcoating. Any thought on this? Is it safe? They claim it will take a week. I personally do not want to leave the car there for a week. I can just imaging finding more damage...
What are your thoughts on polished wine glass wheels? Yea or nay?
Anyone selling a set of MINT wine glass rims?

Have the repair appraised by a reputable wheel repair facility...
then submit to them the bill...if they hassle you at all, tell them that you will take it up with your insurance company and lawyer. Plus get an estimate for the ding in the door.
You don't need to take this **** from them. They have insurance for this kind of ****. They do not have the right to decide when and where the repair is made...you do. They owe you. They suck. Don't be swayed by their bull****.

It is a good lesson for all of us though
1. Go to repair places that do a lot of expensive imports.
2. Stay with the car and watch if you can. Go right out there on the floor. If they say no, go somewhere else.
3. Ask for their best tech.
4. NO AIR Wrenches on or off.
5. Write down the torque spec for your wheels on a peice of paper and hand it to the tech. I do this here becasue there a lots of GREAT techs, who do not speak good english.

It's your Choice - not theirs as to how it's fixed...
Having gone thru this at a Sears with my old V8, I forced them to cut a check for the estimate from the wheel refinisher and then used the proceeds to upgrade... you've had enough inconvenience at this point...
it's called " gross negligence" - and covered by their insurance.

Hope to figure out how to over the weekend...
it just came back from the bodyshop from getting it's spoiler remounted ( repainted and mounted correctly this time - so that it connects the taillights..). also taking it to the exhaust shop tomorrow to swap out the rolled tips for SS intercooled versions..( hopefully they burble a bit less...)
They also painted the lower rockers and kick panel under warranty... unfortunately they screwed it up and are redoing it next month (earliest appt.)
would be interested in hearing about you subwoofer at some point - I'm looking for better sound, not more of it..

Tire America (now NTB) did in one of my BMW wheels and swore it was already scratched.
Now I always take the wheel(s) off and take 'em in regardless of who's doing the mounting. It's a PITA but it limits the opportnities for damage. And it gives me a chance to see what's going on underneath.
Thought I saw some 17" Wineglass wheels for sale in the Wheel and Tire forum.
