2.7T buying tips and next new model?
Hi, I'm a new guy here...
I've looked around, but there's so much info here!
I'm looking at buying a 2002 2.7T (6-speed), and wondering if there's anything I should watch out for, both in the buying process, and any recurring problems or flaws with these cars.
On the odd chance that I find a slightly used 2001 model (at a good price), would you take that or stick with the '02?
Finally, what's the rumour mill say about the next updated model/body style? Next year? 2 or 3 years?

You may want to check the model guide for changes from '01 to '02.
If you buy and don't really need the '02 changes, the '01 is good. If you plan to lease, get the '02 for better residuals. Most of the bugs have been ironed out. The Audi rumour mill says an all new A6 in late '04 as an '05 model.

I bought a 2002 2.7t tip...however, I felt there
were significant differences from 2001 test drive
to 2002 car...biggest being the steering
which is much improved...also...better handling
with less unsprung weight due to alum suspension
additions...Aesthetics--pipes out back look nice..
new radio less cluttered..packaging better...
Also..finding a 2001 with proper equip this time of year is going to be tricky...unless $$$ is a serious issue...get the new car...if buying..
any 2001 is worth 3-5k less as soon as you title it...hope this helps...my 2 cents...next new model

I got a 2002 2.7 myself. I considered a NEW 2001 model the same equip as my own but for $1500 (no deal) it was a no brainer. You have to consider if you lease or buy. If you lease the new one will be cheaper since the residual will be higher. If you buy and want to keep it the 2001 might be a better deal if priced right. Might want to check out this car I just saw on ebay. It looks real nice and the price is right. It looks beautiful.
