Is it advisable to use engine braking (Quattro, Tiptronic) in wet condition ... (more)
On the other side Quattro designed to distribute torque between your wheels during acceleration. To prevent wheels from spining. It does not help match during braking. I mean it is the best AWD, you can get, but it does not do miracles.
If you have problems with using brakes on hills, you probably constantly using them ("riding brakes"). Another thing is to upgrade brakes (cross-drilled and/or sloted rotors, better pads) and of cause change the brake fluid. It will keep you brakes from overheating.
I suggest you test a car with out ABS in the wet and then try your car. You will see and appreciate the technology.
