Default Hey S6ers!!!

Aren't you just lovin' your cars. Been keepin' the revs under 4000 during break in, and it still flies. Only 600 miles to go.

Default I'm around 2k mi now, and I'm beating the p*ss out of it every time out!

Not really, it's just that I can't keep myself from flooring it almost everytime I get the chance! I do shift around 5500-6000 most times, as this seems to be the sweet spot for shift-points. That last 1000 rpm's is sort of like scary, uncharted waters.

Default The running-in time is the most difficult, specially when you have an engine which wants to rev,

however, even past 1500/2000 miles you're not totally there yet and the worse is that until 3000 miles or more you car's performance will some days be terrific and some others not so good, for no particular reason.
My theory is that like for high-end hi-fi, the electronics are still running in. From my experience in the Hi-Fi field, high-end electronics can take as much as 100 hours to run-in fully.... Loudspeakers take even longer.
100 hours @ 30 mph (average speed) = 3000 miles

Patience guys!!!

Time for you to pass 6000 rpm and progressively go to 7000. Don't let that engine get lazy
