Two more S6 revelations...
Not a huge deal, but...2. The ContiSportContacts are not enough for this car. Got to put another 200 miles on it today and gave it a bit of a tossing through some twisties and around on/off ramps of the highway. I am EXTREMELY pleased with how firm and flat the suspension is (a substantial improvement over the already pretty damn good for a 4000 pound sedan, 4.2 suspension) and how there is virtually zero body roll, and how "light on its feet" this S6 feels compared to the 4.2...BUT, the Contis are the weak link...they were squealing like a pig and although it felt like the car wanted to push harder, it was too easy to reach the limit of the tires. In a few months, I'll probably be looking to get some with some extra nad than these
Does the "raise the backend" function work "normally"?

As you put more miles on the Conti's you will notice a better grip.
When they eventually become a bit slippery, swap them back to front and then they seem not to slip so much anymore.
For motoracing in classes were cars have to race with standard tyres, it is common practice to scrape 50% of the thread, as only then most tyres have the best grip. Also it reduces the grove walls movements
Also, Audi could have seen fit to put the better performing Conti Sport 2's on the S6 at least. But, it's all about compromise I guess. You know, trade off some performance for some ride comfort/quietness.
