after landing a decent connection at the Apple store in Chandler AZ. Been really struggling with one of the crappiest dial up lines ever. The AZ report this time confirms that the Escalade is really popular here, and I've never ever seen so many high-spec Mercs anywhere.

Anyway, the gist of what I saw in Finman's pictures of his wife's car is that I would like it if AudiWorld would now create a separate forum for you S6 people.

I cannot stand it. I'm sooooooooooooo envious. I never thought I'd have such a inferiority complex driving a 4.2.

Congratulations to a FinFamily and FinChick, the S6 is gorgeous, fantastic, etc. etc. etc.!!!!

 

I've thought the 4.2 is the most amazing large sedan, overall, I have ever driven (never drove an M5)...but this thing (although a wagon) is several steps above the 4.2...it is verrrrryyyy sweet and despite what many may think, it is worth the premium in buckage...I want you to drive it so you can be even more envious

I've always wanted a bad-*** wagon (would've gone for the Avant had it been available with either the 2.7 or 4.2). As a teenager I'd laugh at myself now desiring a "station wagon."

I'm afraid I live with what I have for a little while, but believe me I'm scheming about my next S6......uh, I mean, my next car, whatever it might be. I'd love to dump all the current wheels for an S6 and a Golf VR6... Anyway, maybe we can work out a weekend trade a little later when the sun shines long; a red car for a red car.

Post more pics! Fuel the fantasy! The Alcantara looks really nice. How's that steering wheel? Sport mode vs. non? Does it feel less nose heavy? Are those 17" Avus or 18"? Take a pic with the rear seats folded flat. What do you think of the exposed pipes? It seemed like the '02 4.2 sedan I looked at in the showroom had a lot of space around the tips. What's redline in that bad boy? Speed limiter? Looks like you'll have to make another land speed record attempt sometime. Hire a photographer this time though okay? I'll read back for your notes in case you've already answered these Q's.

I'm back in town this weekend; the wife is gone to LA. You around? You two ever go sailing? We (my buddy who owns the boat who's also a "car guy") might head out if the weather's half decent. Likely light winter winds will keep it sane and non-scary if you might be interested.
