Bulletin: Audi outsells Toyota, Honda, BMW in Chicago
You may recall my saga of two non-responsive, non-professional dealers. I finally settled on the third (and last) in North Suburban Chicago.
Strolled in last Saturday (1/5) dumb and happy-ready to order the full boat 4.2 in special paint. The dealer was still unclear about the up charge ($1700 or $500 if it was an active A6 color). OK fine--call me Monday. I called 2x Monday, one call back--no decision.
I called 2x Tuesday, received a call at home at night--no info but would resolve finally Wednesday. Wednesday--zip-nada--null--no call.
Thursday today--2 1/2 hrs still all quiet on the Audi front. You'd think for a $57225 MSRP, they'd make a good buck after discounting and be more proactive. I don't recall being trampled by customers at any of the dealerships.
If they're this non-chalant pre-sale, what chance do I have post-sale? ARRRGGHHH--I love the car, but the dealers go with it. I'm losing the conviction here.
The only way these people are going to improve is by customer feedback. How the heck are Audi going to challenge Lexus, BMW, et al with such dealers....and the Chicago area is hardley sparsley populated!! Customer Service (and perception) is extremely important in any industry dealing with the public.
