Another Red Light Runner
Had the front end clipped on my 4.2 by a red light runner (glancing blow to front, which took off bumper cover, pushed bumper in and damaged both fenders). After over a month, it should be coming out of the shop. Delay caused by difficulty in getting parts (e.g., headlight washer nozzles, believe it or not). Nobody was hurt, and I had five witnesses and a red light camera on my side, so no argument with the insurance company. Looks like about $5k worth of damage).
Can "the experts" think of anything I should particularly keep an eye on? For example, how robust are the HID lights?

Sucks...big time...What lovely vehicle have they put you up in?
A Chevy Metro or perhaps a Prism...or even better...ANY Pontiac???
I'm no expert, but just make sure the paint matches and there is no overspray or bad texture, make sure EVERYTHING works correctly, not just sort of, look at it from different angles and make sure it looks "right", make sure you don't have any "fog" building up in the headlights (ie. small crack somewhere), and finally, make sure no one smokes in your car while they're fixing it!

I have been enjoying a 2000 Chevy Impala. According to State Farm, this is a comparable vehicle, since the only criteria they use is size. If I had know it was going to take more than a month to fix, I would have argued harder for an upgrade. It has been one of those "it will be ready next week" deals.
Next time (at least where the insurer has admitted that they insured is to blame) I will push harder for a vehicle that is 4WD/AWD, six airbags and 300 hp.
