Bose Symphony jumping tracks on in-dash CD player

Bose Symphony *jumping* tracks on in-dash CD player

Anyone else experience problems with their
Symphony player just jumping in the middle
of a track to the next track? Doesn't seem
to matter what CD it is or how clean it is
either. It just jumps to the next track
before finishing the one it's on. It's
not consistent either.

Have an '01 A6 2.7T w/Tip Premium, Convenience, Sport.

Does your radio skip stations too?

My radio and CD changer started skipping from station to station and track to track respectively. After about three days it returned to normal. I figured that the head unit was on vacation for that time.

Of course my dealer is going to say, "we can't reproduce the problem so we're not replacing the head unit."

Weird huh?

Yes...

mine does it (skips back and repeats a track) occassionally, randomly, but seems only on track 3 of the CD at least from what I've noticed. Will point it out at next service.

Mine does the same thing about one a month.That ia an average. My cd player will Restart a song that it is playing versus going to the next track. It happens so infrequent and the Bose stereo sounds great so it does not bother me that much. Just ananother Audi Quirk. I love my 2.7 so most things I learn to live with. Now if I just can work out those rattles and squeaks.
