Got my car back - FINALLY!! Info and a question.
So here's the low-down on what was causing the "chirping" noise when the Turbos kicked in: the wastegate rod was loose causing a high-pitched vibration. Only way to fix it apparently is to replace the Turbos. They had to remove the engine to do the work, something I wasn't exactly thrilled about on a brand new car but it seems to be running right.
Because I picked it up on a Saturday, I didn't get the paperwork since the service advisor hadn't finished inputing all the info. I got the paperwork in the mail today and was looking it over...
So here's my question: There is an entry that reads: "Test measuring blocks and found DTC for Trans Range Sensor Circuit.Inspected harness and connectors and found fresh water in the harness connector."
I'm not a car mechanic (although I can handle basic maintenance) so I dont know what this all means. Anybody give me a layman's explanation???
They also indicated that they "cleaned out the water and applied stabilant to connector, roadtested perf. to manufacturees spec'c." (which sounds logical, I guess.)
Thanks in advance!
