Hesitation/RPM drop in TIP mode, 2nd gear. Any resolution on this? I have it too...
As with Stoney's posts, mine is only in second gear in tip mode, not auto mode. It is a drop in RPM's as the engine accellerates. To induce it you start slowly in tip form around 5 mph and then push it 7/8 of the way down (so as not to hit the kickdown switch).
Why does this happen in TIP mode, and not Automatic mode? Why does it happen period?
Interestingly, it seems the tip chip won't fix it either. Maybe recoding? Do newer 02-03 cars do it too?
Thanks anyone for an update. I have a service appointment coming up and I'd like to pursue this if there is anything to be done.
The only thing I found is from Audi MA, who posted: "Tech. says normal, [h]as to do with LTC..." What is "LTC"??
I recall that Garrett of GIAC knew why it was there, and he left it in his chips, too. A call to him might reveal the answer. Or a better search here.
