Default Sports seats on 2.7T '03... too confining?

I ordered a '03 2.7T about 2 weeks back. The sales droid insisted on the sports seats, which now are optional. You can get the sports suspension w/o the sports seat. I'm a fairly big guy, 6'3", 210. I worry about the sports seats being too confining, too restrictive. The sales guy insisted that the non sport seats were ****y. Anyone tried the sport seats? My ETA is start of Dec. Dunno if Audi would allow a change on the order, if I wanted to.

Default Have you been able to try both at the dealer? I'd listen to your sales guy.

I'm 6' / 220 and would not have an Audi without the sport seats.

You might well be able to change your order if you change your mind - they should be able to give you an estimated build date, and dates that you can make changes up to.

Default Unless the seats are that much different from '01 2.7...

I'm 6'3" 235 pounds and I was a bit "tight" in the seat for the first 1-2K miles. They actually break in very fast and now fit nice and snug, not binding. When I first got in the car, I'd have to pull my wallet out of my back pocket. No more, all is well.

Try both cars at the dealer and sit in them for a good ten minutes or more. Better yet, get to drive it for a few miles in the twisties...

I'm very glad I did the sports package (suspension and seats together).

Default The sport seats are the ONLY way to go...IMO...

the regular seats have zero lateral support...

If you are 6-3 and only 210, you must not be very FAT...so you should fit fine. Just go to a dealer and check out the 2 types of seats.

When new the sport seats might feel slightly confining, but they loosen up a little...no sweat.

But if production of your car starts in December...you should have no problem changing the seats.

Default If you get 'em and they're too confining . .

let me know, I'll swap with you. I have the non-sport seats and I'd prefer the sport seats.

The non-sport seats aren't bad though. I drove over 500 miles in one weekend recently and I was surprised that when I got out of the car, I felt great.

I'm 6'2" 210 and I love them. They loosen up a little after 5k-10k miles also.

Hated the sports seats for the first 1,000 miles, now they are quite comfy
