Poll: Should Audi have a Formula1 team? OR
should the mothership name the team Porsche F1?
Audi being one of the most technologically advanced cars in the market probably would benefit if the team was named Audi. Formula1 is the pinnacle of motor racing technology and its only fair that Audi be a part of it.
What do you guys think?

VERY expensive operation. Would probably result in higher prices. ....
Nothing is free in this world. Sure, we'de like to see them do it, but, let's face it, technology aside, F1 is totally boring. How many passes were there at Monaco this year?

One can only wish...
As soon as they get Le Mans out of their system (feel they are close to maximizing the marketing potential) they may take a look. They certainly have the race reputation to pull in significant sponsor dollars out of the box. However, they, Audi, still has limited worldwide market share and with VW's new 8s and Luxury cars and broad base international market appeal (read sales), it well may be a VW name and not Audi. Besides F1 (and my FIA rulebook is a few years old- so it may have changed) does not allow 4WD or AWD and that is something the marketing Gurus will consider to the point that they may look at being just an engine supplier a la BMW and Mercedes. - Just thoughts...

Re: VERY ....Monaco is not a good example, you could have any sort of cars at Monaco
and would still be boring..but you are right about the lack of passing in F1.
But thats doesnt change the fact that its the highest form of motorsports competition.
There is a difference between a good spectator sport and the pinnacle of motorsports.
