I appreciate any thoughts on these new Audi car options -
My 2000 A6 4.2 lease ends 15DEC02 -
I am considering 2002-2003 S6 Avant or
2002-2003 A6 4.2.
My local dealer advises the the following -
2002 S6 - $100/month less than 2003 S6
2002 or 2003 4.2 $200/month less than 2003 S6
--
For $100/month less - why not get the 2002 S6?
Is the S6 worth the extra $$$?
-and-
If I really wanted to save money, should I even consider a A6 2.7T?

The '02 S6 Avant is the best car/deal there, but...
...there are a lot more variables to a lease than just monthly payments to compare.
You should be able to do a lot better on a '02 4.2 than that, but the residual has probably dropped significantly, offsetting the lower price (danger of leasing previous model year cars).
If interested in the 4.2, might be better negotiating the best discount on an '02 and taking the cheap financing.

Yes, the S6 is easily worth $100/mo extra...easy...
I'd get the '02 if you're leasing and the rest is the same...that is, money out of your pocket...they are the same car, no new stuff or anything...get the '02 and I'll take the extra $100.

Maybe someone else can enlighten me but I was told a while ago that...
you should only lease at the beginning of a new model year and never lease a prior model year because you are hit hard financially during the lease due to depreciation. The car is basically one year old (even though it's never been titled) and you get screwed by the depreciation of having a "new" year-old car. Any thoughts or corrections??

I don't lease (too many miles)
