Does the 2.7T ECU add more fuel if it thinks the engine is running too hot?
Let's say that your coolant temp sensor is busted and you have no idea what it is actually sending the ECU. So let's say that it is telling your ECU that you are running hot, would the ECU add more fuel to adjust the mixture?
The question was raised because my sensor is busted, or perhaps the guage. Probably the sensor though. In any event, the earliest my car can make it in is next Tuesday so I called Audi service to check. The tech I spoke with said that it does not adjust the mixture based on the coolant temp sensor.
True or false? Any input is welcome, except if you are going to say something about my moma.

Mine broke twice, and it took 3 trips to get the first one fixed as mine did not
throw one code. I finally took a pictire of the oil temp at 220, and the coolant temp at "left peg", and e-mailed it to the service manager. The ONLY problem I had with the car was a slighly rough idle

I just drove to the store and watched mine go to the midway point and then back down to "C"
(left side) in less than 60 seconds : )
If they call me up and tell me they didn't find a problem, I'll say, "No sweat, leave the keys in the Porsche and let me know when you figure it out" ; )

Wait till it is night (shows up better on the digicam) Snap a picture of it
make sure you get the date/time in the shot. It is not really the dealers fault. They can not get a warranty reimbursement easily unless they have a fault code, but they can attach the picture to the paperwork for AoA to look at
