Default S6 delivery... the good part

Aside from the details that I'm sure will get sorted out, I must say that I got the great feeling of having made the "right choice". The car is nicer than I remember from my short test drives and of course I was able to drive it on familiar roads. It is such a capable car and it's so.... how can I explain, ...easy. There is no drama, it is not a rocket off the line but it goes, and goes, and goes. And the more it goes, the better it feels, sadly in a sense, the car seems like it really comes into its own at 80+ . On the other hand I'm very impressed with the shocks and general suspension tuning of this car, there is so little roll and pitch, hard braking squat is so well controlled, the whole notion that you are driving a wagon is just not there. Of course being the maniac that I am, as soon as I got home and saw that TireRack had delivered my latest set of R-Componds, I folded down the seats and loaded 8 (huge) wheels in the back and raced to the tire installer, got to love a wagon!
Also some more quick impressions:
1 The nav input is broken but with a lot of work I was able to enter a destination. It really is not that bad and on the plus side it's quicker to re-route than the BMW system....and more polite too (please make a right....)
2 Nice stereo, I really like that you can tune the radio manually straight from the ****. but I do miss the steering wheel controls.
3. love the cargo net!
4 the bi-xenon high beams are REALLY bright

more to come and I promise, pictures!

BTW thanks to all for the little insights I was able to pick up here and there on this forum and that were helpful in deciding.

Default Ignore him, no.dot is a troll, he doesn't even have an Audi...he likes to pretend! ;)

I agree 100%...definitely do not feel like you are in a wagon...the suspension is near perfect with very little roll, squat, pitch, dive, etc...without being harsh. The only thing I see is that it is a little high-sitting...could use a little ~1 inch of lowering...and I still wouldn't mind it being stiffer...

It is an excellent car...the most balanced of any Audi I've ever driven...you will likely enjoy it greatly...

I've still only used the high-xenons for a total of about 1 minute!

Default suspension thoughts

I specifically zeroed in on the dampner settings because two weeks ago I installed a custom valved set of double adjustable Konis in my M Coupe and it did wonders for that car. I know it may sound ludicrous but the S6 shocks settings are closer to that controlled feeling than I could ever imagine. Not that the S6 could turn like the coupe but it's remarkable none the less.

Agreed...I was 'shocked' by the improvement over the 4.2 sport.
