and so many of you are now saying the light interior is easier to keep clean! I don't 'do' crumbs in my car, and it has a black interior, so I didn't really consider that an issue, but I certainly can see the back seat covered in dust and crumbs and light colored dirt, not to mention any number of sticky substances, which would probably be worse on black. Now we're back to the beige/tan, and hope we can get the price we want, as we could get the price on the silver/black one thanks to my coolio dealer. (Beige/tan is with another dealer, unfortunately)

Default The black interior is MUCH, MUCH BETTER!!!

Don't believe any comments about "ability to keep clean"...the black is much better...the gray will eventually show filth...and forget about tan!!!

Just my bigotry against non-black interiors...no flames necessary!

But, seriously, it is very easy to care for and does not show dust...plus, dust is much easier to remove than dirt.

Default Why is it more work? This doesn't make sense!

I have black in both cars...and it is simple...and it looks NEW!!! No slick shiny leather like most people have...still have the matte, dry surface appearance leather...no problems with dust or dirt. Just Zaino "leather-in-a-bottle" once every 3-4 months and the leather stays perfect. Every two months or so on the steering wheel.

Default The Melange/tan interior is MUCH, MUCH better!!!

I've had both black (w/silver) and now Melange (with Nemo) and I like both. That said, black is VERY monochromatic <<seattle reaches for dictionary>> and "traditional." To my eye, the Melange is WAY more attractive, visually interesting, and just more satisfying day in, day out.

Few things are as subjective as color, but...there you go.

Default AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!

Boy this is frustrating - remember, none of you have to deal with my wife as she makes this decision!!

Okay, so now we have about 50/50 light versus black. Her current 850 turbo has a tan interior, and it looks like absolute crap - stained, discolored, stained, and stained. My V70R has a black interior and it looks great, but that could just be because I take care of my car.

The beige/tan one has the sunshades and telematics, the silver/black one has Bose upgrade (whoopee) and the difference in price is $100 between the two.

What the heck do we do?? We want the shades, and the best interior to keep clean with a messy Mom and likely messy kid (if she watches Mommy up front...)

Default my personal experience

my car has black, my wifes car has gray. i see fuzz and dust more in my car than her car.

just my personal experience. offcourse i am more picky about keeping my car clean.

careful with all those "!" marks, makes you sound quite upset or excited. :-)

Default I would take the black over the tan no matter what!

If her tan car is "stained" now...it will be in the new car...no doubt, black, is better for those less adept at keeping things clean (not me!)...I wouldn't think twice about this one...easy choice...screw the shades, I like 'em but most people don't use them much, plus in the Avant, the rear window one is MANUAL (which sucks) anyway!

Silver and black...silver and black...

Default Fuzz and dust is a far cry from "stains"...20 seconds with a Pledge dust wipe...

eliminates all the fuzz and dust...I do it while stopped at red lights! (I am excited, I LOVE dusting my car!!!). Stains and soilage require much more effort.
I'll put my black interiors up against anyone else's interior and I bet mine win 95% of the time...(there are others more meticulous than I...but not too many!!!)
