i got hit yesterday, what should I do?
Yesterday my car was hit on the parking lot by some lady parking. Luckily an EMS worker just hanging out saw the whole thing happen and he took the plates down and reported it to me. Somehow he knew it was my car. Anyway the lady saw him witness it so she left her number on my winshield. Luckilly it was just scuffed and 45 mins of rubbing compund took care of it. The rim was a little scratched but it really doesnt bother me that much. I do have a rim on the other side that is bent and needs to be replaced. Should I contact her to get a few hundred to replace a rim or should I just let it go? The EMS worker told me that after hitting me she drove away but she came back to leave the note.

If she had done the right thing and did not need the witness to "fess up" I would say let it go...but you are within your rights to request her insurer pay for the damage. It will bug you everytime you wash the car and see the damage anyway!

Get the EMS guy something. If you know his name and station, drop something by as thanks.
If it bothers you, find out how much the rim would cost to get repaired. Call the lady and tell her thanks for leaving the number and that the damage wasn't too bad. Explain that you were able to get the scuff out but the rim is damaged and it will cost X dollars to repair it and ask if she will cover it. If she can afford it and you approach her in a friendly manner she's likely to say yes and you both come out OK.
