Resale of RS6
Honestly, I'd say immediate resale will be low for a couple reasons:
1. Supply isn't all that restricted.
2. Few people even know it is coming (unlike say the BMW Mini)
3. Audi owners/buyers are relatively cheap bastards. I mean, there is some truth to the talk that if money were no object, many of use would own a different car.
So, I personally don't think the resale market will be huge. Just one guy's opinion though.
I also wouldn't engage in gouging, but I've tried to keep my feelings on that subject out of my opinions about the feasibility.

With the RS6, it seems reasonable that tight-as-hell supply (at first, anyway) will meet hot-as-all-get-out demand (at first, anyway) with the result being an above-retail "secondary market." A friend of mine here in Chicago told me his dealer said immediate RS6 resale could go as high as $50,000 over MSRP. Even if it's only 20% of that, it'd be a helluva nice quick return on a car some folks might not want to keep all that long anyway. So, what the above-retail buyer is paying for is the "at the moment value" of the car...the reward of having one when there are few to be had. Ultimately, availability improves. As has been pointed out here before, these early big-hit resale "pops" tend to diminish (sometimes pretty quickly) as supply at some point catches up to what certainly will be VERY limited demand longer term. Indeed, I'll bet that before the end of the RS6 run, you'll be able to get 'em BELOW MSRP right from the dealer (not unlike some S6s we've heard about lately).
One indication that the RS6 may NOT be THAT hot from a "secondary retail" standpoint is the absence so far of anyone on eBay selling their "dealer delivery commitment" at auction. Such offerings WERE made for before the S6 launch. Then again, maybe we'll see 'em as we get closer to RS6 release, too.
A final thought: Anybody who even SUGGESTS that you'd be less than honorable for buying an RS6 for $85,000 and then selling it a month or two later for, say, $120,000 is A COMPLETE AND UTTER DOOFUS!! The freedom of exchange between a happy seller and a satisfied buyer is the basis of our entire economic system. That said, explaining Adam Smith to schvet-nicole... oops, I mean Anna Nicole Smith, may simply not be possible!!
