This explains it all!
I wonder who the actress/model is that went out with him as he CLAIMS. Of course we know he's not very truthful.
She must have been blind or butt ugly!

OK - since you threw out such a bad lie, let me straighten it out for you
There are two main, and one minor pagent.
Miss America (http://www.missamerica.com/default.asp)
Miss USA - which feeds into the Miss Universe pagent (http://www.missuniverse.com) which includes miss Teen USA.
There is also a MRS. America pagent - whcih is pretty minor. (http://www.mrsamerica.com)
I used to date a former Miss New York (from the Miss America pagent), when I lived in DC.
My fraternity brother from UT married a Miss Universe (who was a Miss Texas/Miss USA).
So you see - if your wife was a Miss Michigan, or a Miss Michigan USA, you would already be able to tell the difference. But you can't
