Anyone heard expected price for next gen. S4 w/ 334HP??

I'd expect right around $50k starting price...given that a loaded A4 3.0...
is $42k+...the addition of the 4.2 and the new transmission and improved suspension is at least $8k...
Of course it has to come in under the S6...so right at $50k base seems right to me.

Can't come in that high... the M3 will kick its *** for less $... Audi can't have that.
My guess is BASE of $42-$44k. Remember our fun american versions with crappy sport seats and... well, we get everything else now.

They assumed spec changes too...
"Second - like it or leave it, the new S4 has a normally aspirated 4.2l V8 rated at 344hp and 302 lb-ft of torque. When converted from European DIN horsepower ratings to our SAE rating along with a few usual U.S. spec differernces horsepower is expected to be closer to 334hp when it arrives on our shores next spring. This is a strong offering with equal horsepower to the M3 and more torque."

S4 used to be cheaper than M3. I question whether the market will sustain one...
.. that is more expensive than the M3. I realize it's a V8 (so is the Lincoln LS!), but it is still -- in my mind -- not quite the near-exotic, no-holds-barred road machine that the M3 is. In my mind, you can't have 60/40 weigh distribution and claim M3 status.
